Current copyright policy
Quoting Scripture? You May Not Need a License.
The Way Version has a standard quotation permission for ordinary excerpts. You may quote up to 500 verses in a larger print, digital, visual, or audio work without asking in advance, provided every condition in the published policy is met.
Among those conditions, the total quotation must not exceed 500 verses across a single work or substantially related series, must not amount to more than half of any one biblical book, and must make up less than 25% of the larger work. Quotations must be accurate, properly credited, and must not imply endorsement.
This permission is for quotations within other works. It does not authorize republishing a standalone Bible, complete biblical book, Scripture portion, Bible app, database, or a substantially complete TWV edition. Translation into another language, substantial adaptation, and use exceeding any standard limit require advance written permission.
