Standard use guidelines
The Way Version text may be quoted in print, digital, and audio formats up to and including five hundred (500) verses without a formal license or express written permission, provided that the verses quoted:
- do not amount to more than one-half of any one book of the Bible;
- do not account for twenty-five percent (25%) or more of the total text of the work in which they are quoted;
- are not being used to create a commentary, study Bible, reference Bible, Bible app, Bible database, or similar biblical reference work;
- include the required credit line; and
- are not used in a way that suggests endorsement by The Way Partners or a Corporate Partner.
Required credit line
When quoting The Way Version under these guidelines, include the following notice in a reasonable location:

Uses requiring written permission
Please request written permission before quoting beyond the standard guidelines, reproducing a complete book or official edition, using The Way Version in a commercial Bible product, translating the text into another language, recording substantial audio portions, distributing the supplied ebook file as your own edition, or building a searchable Bible app, database, model corpus, or similar reference tool from the text.
No permission is granted to sell a reproduced official edition, remove copyright notices, imply endorsement, or grant sublicenses to the text. Permission granted for one use does not automatically apply to another edition, format, language, or product.
Corporate Partner recognition
Corporate Partner names and logos remain the property of their owners and appear only as approved recognition. Their inclusion does not transfer rights in The Way Version, provide editorial control, or authorize others to use those marks.
